Cache Warming (Advanced)

Cache warming preloads frequently accessed data to avoid cold-start latency.

Manual Warming

from symphra_cache import CacheManager
from symphra_cache.backends import MemoryBackend
from symphra_cache.warming import CacheWarmer

cache = CacheManager(backend=MemoryBackend())
warmer = CacheWarmer(cache)

# Preload specific keys
await warmer.warm_up({
    "user:123": {"name": "Alice"},
    "user:456": {"name": "Bob"},
})

Smart Warming

from symphra_cache.warming import SmartCacheWarmer

warmer = SmartCacheWarmer(cache)
await warmer.auto_warm_up() # strategy based on access patterns

Strategies

  • Time-based warming before traffic peaks
  • Popular keys warming from analytics
  • Dependency graph warming after batch updates

Tips

  • Combine warming with monitoring to measure latency improvements
  • Avoid over-warming large datasets; target the hot set
  • Use namespaced prefixes to warm coherent groups
